Construction Electrician

P1 Group, Inc. is seeking individuals for Construction Electrician positions in the Lawrence/Topeka area.

Position Description
Construction Electricians install, maintain and repair electrical systems for commercial construction and remodeling projects. This is a position that, depending upon your education, experience and training, can lead to an outstanding career with excellent wages, medical and retirement benefits. All potential candidates will complete an entrance exam that will determine their starting point in an eight-year education and on-the-job training program. Candidates are compensated according to a classification scale, and advanced by accumulating work experience and completing training and testing.

Career Outlook
These career positions are meant for those interested in advancement within P1 Group, an organization dedicated to excellence, safety and innovation. After completing the requirements for the Construction Electrician position, individuals will have the opportunity to move on to other positions, including: Electrical Field Supervisors, Project Engineers, Project Managers and Estimators.

Qualifications

  • Interested applicants must be at least 18 years of age. No prior experience and/or training are required, though it is helpful to have some knowledge of the construction industry. We are seeking trainees for this position who work well in a team setting and who possess good decision-making, critical-thinking and communication skills.

Data/Communications Technician

P1 Group is currently expanding its Building Technologies division and has immediate openings for Communications Technicians at its office located in Lawrence, KS.

Position Description
As part of this progressive organization, the candidate is responsible for performing installation and maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair on a variety of circuits, systems, and test equipment. He or she also calibrates test equipment, interprets and validates testing reports, prepares as-built documentation, labeling and maintenance of documents. P1 Group is seeking applicants interested in an outstanding career at an organization that offers excellent wages, medical and retirement benefits.

Qualifications
He or she must be a self starter and organized. Daily work will require direct involvement and interaction with end users and design professionals. Must be customer oriented and clean in appearance. BICSI, NICET or NSCA credentialing a plus, but not necessary. An associate degree in electronics technology or equivalent is desirable. A minimum of 4 years of related experience working with the following is required -

  • The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and organized
  • Daily work will require direct involvement and interaction with end users and design professionals, so must be customer oriented and neat and clean in appearance.
  • BICSI, NICET or NSCA credentialing is a plus, but not necessary.
  • Candidates must submit and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • An associate's degree in electronics technology or equivalent is desirable and a minimum of 4 years of related experience working with the following is required:
    • Structured Cabling Installation, Testing and Troubleshooting
    • Fiber Optic Installation, Testing and Troubleshooting
    • Fire Alarm
    • Access Control
    • Closed Circuit Television
    • Sound Masking and Paging Systems
    • Key and/or P.B.X. Systems
    • Audio Visual Presentation Systems

Electrical Project Manager

P1 Group is seeking candidates for Electrical Project Managers for the company's Lenexa and Lawrence, KS offices.

Position Description
We offer a challenging and fast-paced work environment encompassing a wide range of projects within the Healthcare, Research Facilities, Municipal, Institutional, National Retail, Manufacturing and Industrial fields.

The responsibilities of the Electrical Project Manager include: building strong, long-term customer relationships; managing all aspects of projects from turnover to completion; estimating and track change orders. Both local and traveling positions are available. P1 Group is seeking applicants interested in an outstanding career at an organization that offers excellent wages, medical and retirement benefits.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in electrical construction project management. This includes but is not limited to bidding, estimating and managing commercial and industrial projects.
  • Either field experience supervising electrical trades and/or a Bachelors degree related to construction/engineering or related field. Degree preferred.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and construction means and methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project.
  • Helpful if proficient with Accubid Pro and AutoCad.
  • Willingness to travel considered a plus.

Mechanical Project Manager

  • Willingness to travel considered a plus.

General HVAC Maintenance

P1 Group is seeking candidates for a

General HVAC Maintenance

position to work the third shift in a pharmaceutical setting. This full-time position offers full benefits, and the pay range is $19 to $25 based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Must have knowledge of HVAC, boilers chillers and AHUs
  • Minimum 5 years experience

HVAC Service Technician

P1 Group is currently seeking candidates for commercial

HVAC service technicians

for the Lawrence and Topeka, Kansas area.

P1 Group technicians will troubleshoot, repair, maintain and install HVAC and related equipment. Additionally, this person will interact with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

  • Be independent, creative, confident and self-motivated
  • Possess good customer service skills
  • Have a valid driver's license and a good motor vehicle record
  • Be EPA Certified - Universal or Type 2
  • Have a minimum 5 years of experience with industrial and commercial HVAC

Office Manager

P1 Group is seeking an experienced office manager in our Lawrence, KS office. This position is responsible for supervising clerical tasks and personnel supporting mechanical, electrical and sheet metal construction project managers and estimators. The position is expected to promote a team environment and excellent communication. Daily support tasks may include:

  • Write/submit scope and bid letters and other basic correspondence related to projects.
  • Handle submittals, subcontracts, purchase orders and change orders
  • Track other required documentation such as lien waivers, insurance certifications, etc.
  • Order Plans and Specifications and make copies.
  • Send out bid requests and obtain quotes from suppliers.

The position requires:

  • 5 years office administrative/clerical experience
  • 5 years experience managing multiple personnel in an office environment
  • Helpful but not required: Industry experience with a construction, engineering or architecture firm
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Publisher and Windows
  • Good written and oral communication in English
  • Accurate typing skills
  • Effectively organizing information and files
  • Maintaining confidentiality.
  • Working without direct supervision.
  • Good reasoning abilities, time management skills, patience and creativity
